Don't let go was heavily inspired by Dali and Frida Kahlo. The heart is a representation of life, love, and what it means to be human. The robed figure is featured in many of my artworks but in this one, it finally has its hood down. The turban is supposed to bring in African culture especially that with witchcraft and voodoo. The painting can make the viewer either feel happy or sad depending on how they see the cup either half full or half empty. I try many mediums and I'm trying to master all of them. This was my first serious acrylic painting and I love the way it came out. I experimented with several mediums and methods to achieve a unique outcome.
