Draumalandið / Elysium is a series of 15-toned cyanotypes. In the footage, shot in Gothenburg, Sweden, the chaos of nature meets the order of human organization dramatically. It is an innocent, everyday environment that takes on a chaotic and threatening tone with technology. The images are cyanotypes, 42 x 66 cm, done on 57 x 76 cm 300g Saunders Waterford watercolour paper, toned in a solution of green Aleppo oak galls. The cyanotype process is an artisanal alternative photographic technique, originally from 1842. More than one print may be made based on the same image. Due to the organic nature of the process, each version is unique.
