The artwork in this collection is from a series I’ve named Logogram. It is inspired by the film “Arrival”. In the film, an alien race given the name “Heptapods” by a team of translaters, attempt to decipher a communication that consists of circular symbols. Decifering this symbolic form of communication was a task given to a talented linguistics expert. Her expertise with languages and intuitive abilities eventually permitted a non verbal communication to exist between the two races. Each symbol that was presented by the Heptapods represented a word or phrase as well as an entire concept. In similar fashion, the Chinese and Japanese use a symbolic system of characters called “Kanji”. It is the oldest known form of communication in the world. In our modern day world, we verbally communicate on any number of devices that also translates from one language to another for us. Color translates feeling and emotion that is often referenced in language as in the medium of poetry, for example. The ouroboros-like design that I’m working with in this collection offers the possibility of adding color to the communicative quality of these logograms. In some fashion, the logogram becomes a map to the absract artform. This work is a vibrant photographic print that is bonded between polished acrylic and a Dibond aluminum backing making the art 10mm in thickness. The reflective and translucent nature of this acrylic glass gives a stunning depth and radiance to the art presentation. The hanging hardware is an aluminum rail system that accommodates wall hooks with no further framing needed. (Refer to the the images above for a visual example). This is an ultra contemporary work of art. The quality of this artwork presentation is outstanding and of the highest quality. Each image is limited to an edition of ten, signed and numbered on the back. A certificate of authenticity is included. Allow two weeks for delivery.

For the better part of 50 years I have enjoyed and created art in a variety of mediums. I have been an actor, musician, designer of jewelry, sculptor and photographer. My expression in one medium seems to have bled into the next, resulting in my experiencing a passion and satisfaction for my life led as an artist. I currently practice photography full-time. I recently discovered an entirely new vision for this medium that resulted from many years of practice in 'seeing outside the box'. There is a perception of the world that is fresh and clear and available to me through my camera when I open up to what is before my eyes. In the stillness of this moment I simply let go of all my stories and ideas of my past and future. My images record color, texture, pattern and the spaces in between. It's the perception of a feathery pattern reflected in a patch of wet surface, rather than making an image of a cloud reflected in a puddle in the road. This contemplative approach to my photography is what I have to offer and share with the viewer. It is an artistic vision born from the union of my heart and mind.
