The work explores the idea of root starting from shape. Different shapes arranged on different levels and schemes evoke the unorganized nature of roots creating a chaotic visual impression which leads into an almost tactile perception of the subject. The composition implies both the outputs of roots (creation of different natural or manmade worlds) as well as their starting point (the embryo).

Romania
Horia Solomon is a Romanian artist living in Transylvania. His passion for drawing and painting originates in his childhood, as drawing was his favourite way of spending time. In his teens he started the ancient art of glass painting, technique that led him towards the study of sacred art. He graduated Babes –Bolyai University in Cluj-Napoca with a BA in Fine art and cultural heritage. He works on all mediums from walls (al fresco and al seco) to paper and can practice different styles and techniques. His subject matter is very diverse. He paints or draws whatever inspires him from objects to people and from real landscapes to dreamy scenes. He is fascinated by nature and its many forms, shapes and colours and paints it shrouded in an unexpected, sophisticated shine. He seeks the beauty in everyday life and means to show it in his works, be it in the shape of an autumn forest, the narrative realism of a glass or wooden icon or a fantastic atmosphere of an imaginary composition. He has taken part in many collective exhibitions and has works in private collections and displayed at art websites worldwide. His latest work can be seen online at: www.hsartworks.com.
