Inspired by the tiny label on a prescription bottle, this reworked and enlarged take on that small informational label encourages the viewer to reconsider what we accept into our bodies and minds. A messy and playful recontextualization of otherwise boring instruction, this work is intended to hang slightly askew. The paints and paper cling to a linen-like fabric. Though large, the piece is light and intentionally imperfect; more human than the almost robotic head that originally appeared on the machine-made pharmaceutical label. This piece was refreshed in 2021 for greater contrast.
